There is always a small spot in focus, if you afford more than a peek on my photographs, mostly a line or an edge, dividing up the picture in two halfs. Purposely ignoring the golden rule, is attracting attention. Creating this new horizon and composing sky, land and water arround, unites a new world in the observers eye. The contemplation of these surrealistic imagery using maritime components, triggers a rebirth of these very simple, common objects in an other context and enables much indivdual leeway for interpretation.

The pictures are predominantly taken 2012/13 in Berlin at the Wannsee, using parts of our sailing yacht. Playing the game of a flip flop image, I found fitting lines everywhere arround and there are many more images in stock varifing this theme.

Da findet man immer einen kleinen Schärfepunkt, wenn mehr als nur ein kurzer Blick in meine Photographien investiert wird, meist eine Linie oder eine Kante, die das Bild in zwei gleiche Hälften teilt. Unter bewusster Missachtung des goldenen Schnitts wird Aufmerksamkeit erzeugt. Die Schaffung dieses künstlichen Horizonts und die Komposition von beispielsweise Himmel, Land und umgebendem Wasser kann beim Betrachter eine neue Welt zusammensetzten. Die surrealistische Bildsprache unter Verwendung maritimer Komponenten, birgt eine Wiedergeburt der einfachen, alltäglichen Objekte in neuem Kontext und ermöglicht viel Spielraum für individuelle Interpretationen.

Die Bilder wurden mehrheitlich 2012/13 in Berlin auf dem Wannsee aufgenommen und Teile unserer Segeljacht wurden verwendet. Mit Vexierspielen fand ich überall passende Linien und es existieren noch reichlich Fotos, die dieses Thema variieren.
